CASA in Action Acknowledges Shamaine Daniels’ Resilient Primary Race

Daniels Ran a Competitive Primary Race in Packed Democratic Field

YORK, PA – Councilwoman Shamine Daniels extended her heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, volunteers, and voters who believed in her vision for a brighter America. Despite a competitive campaign, Daniels did not advance to the general election for PA 10 Congressional  seat.

“I am proud of the campaign we ran. It was long, hard-fought and consistent with our values, but in the end we were unsuccessful. I would like to thank my supporters, volunteers, donors, and of course my campaign team for all of your support,”said Shamaine Daniels.

In a packed Democratic primary race, the victory ultimately went to Janelle Stelson. A former news anchor for WGAL News 8, Stelson will now face incumbent GOP Congressional Representative Scott Perry in November.

While this was not the desired outcome, Councilwoman Daniels asked her supporter to continue the fight through the general election to unseat incumbent Scott Perry. “The task ahead is a daunting one. Almost 20k fewer Democratic voters turned out yesterday than turned out in the 2020 primary.” She continued, “With the Primary behind us, the real work begins, not just in PA-10, but across our Commonwealth. The work for a successful November begins today.”

Despite the primary results, CASA in Action Pennsylvania Director Daniel Alvalle has hope for the Keystone state. “The work done on the ground to canvas on behalf of the endorsed candidates has been nothing short of inspiring. Volunteers tirelessly knocked on doors, engaged with communities, and rallied behind Councilwoman Daniels’ campaign,” said Alvalle. He concluded, “This campaign embodied the spirit of democracy and civic engagement. While this may be the end of one chapter, it marks the beginning of a new phase in our journey towards a better Pennsylvania.”
