CASA in Action Announces 2024 Primary Endorsements for Pennsylvania Races

YORK, PA – The Board of CASA in Action has voted to endorse this cycle’s inspiring slate of candidates who will champion the priorities of immigrant and working families. CASA in Action will launch an assertive, multilayered voter contact program that combines integrated field operations and dynamic communications outreach to empower, inspire, and turn out Black and Latino voters in the primary elections.

The Board of CASA in Action has endorsed:

Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District – Shamaine Daniels
Shamaine was elected to the Harrisburg City Council in 2013, and led the effort to help small, local businesses open with less red tape and lower fees. Shemaine also fought for affordable housing for families, and invested in youth programs. She supports strengthening the healthcare system, women’s reproductive rights, energy and environment, and supporting veterans.

Marielly, a Pennsylvania CASA in Action member, is looking forward to supporting Shamaine Daniels in her bid to represent Pennsylvania’s District 10 in the US Congress. She said, “Shamaine Daniels, is a great representation for our community. She is a person in whom I see my self reflection. She is a hard worker, a person who knows struggle and better than anything she is honest and transparent.” Marielly added, “I know she is the person we need to represent us.”

PA House of Representatives, PA District 95 – Carol Hill-Evans
Incumbent Representative Hill-Evans has long been a huge supporter of Pennsylvania’s immigrant community around issues such as TPS, DACA and other immigration issues. She is an exemplary leader in protecting the rights of women, immigrants, and people of color, by fighting for equitable access and rights for marginalized communities.

CASA in Action’s Pennsylvania State Director, Daniel Alvalle, is pleased that Rep. Carol Hill-Evans received the organization’s endorsement. He said, “Representative Carol Hill-Evans is a champion and servant leader for her community. She is undoubtedly the only candidate capable of continuing to move her district forward.”

CASA in Action will mobilize a powerful primary campaign to rally recently activated, newly registered, infrequent Black and Latino voters in York and Lancaster Counties. Through canvassing, impactful mailers, innovative digital touchpoints, and compelling phone calls for that critical in-person outreach, this comprehensive program will engage and empower voters to seize the opportunity to cast their ballots for these remarkable candidates.
