Congresswoman Jayapal Teams up with CASA in Action to Bolster Turnout for Warnock in Runoffs

ATLANTA — CASA in Action, a champion for Black, Latino, and immigrant voter mobilization, hosted Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), at a canvass kickoff event on Saturday that aimed to mobilize Georgia’s communities of color to reelect Sen. Raphael Warnock in the runoff election.

“Two years ago, we flipped Georgia blue by bringing together a diverse coalition of voters that included Black voters, Brown voters, Latino voters, AAPI voters, working class voters, and all immigrant voters. That same coalition is what will send Reverend Raphael Warnock back to the Senate and ensure Democrats can continue fighting for working people in Georgia and across the country,” said Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal. “Senator Warnock is a great ally who will keep working to deliver real change for Georgians, not the rich and corporations.”

“We’re so close to victory in this pivotal Senate race, which can help Democrats expand their majority and pursue measures to protect immigrants’ rights, as well as the freedoms of Georgians of color throughout the state,” CASA in Action Georgia State Director Luis Zaldivar said. “The final days of this race will be critical in making sure that Georgia’s Black and Latino communities turn out for Sen. Warnock, and we are tremendously grateful to Rep. Jayapal for joining us in this fight.”

CASA in Action’s efforts during the runoffs have entailed a multilayered mobilization strategy, including more than 27,000 door knocks, over 22,000 mailers, over 41,000 text messages, and more than 3 million digital ad impressions. The organization is determined to reach every Black and Latino voter in Henry, Fulton, Clayton, and DeKalb Counties in order to secure a victory for Warnock. Expanding the Democratic Senate majority to 51 seats will be key to defending and pushing forward policies centering working families in Georgia and across the country.
