July 23, 2022, Hyattsville, MD — With the Associated Press calling the Maryland race for Wes Moore and Aruna Miller, CASA in Action Board President Gustavo Torres issued the following statement.
“We led a strong campaign for Tom Perez and Shannon Sneed with the biggest paid, non-candidate canvass in the state. Our team worked relentlessly to elect these leaders because of their unwavering commitment to working for immigrant and working families. Our family remains extremely proud and inspired by the powerful Team Perez Sneed campaign. Thank you for fighting for us.
“We knew that getting stuff done was our top priority in our search for economic opportunities for communities of color. We are proud of what we have built for racial and socioeconomic justice. We will take that same energy and expertise to the general election: CASA in Action congratulates Wes Moore and Aruna Miller on their nomination.
“Whether it’s for good-paying jobs, affordable housing, or climate justice, we will band together to make sure we have the best person in the Governor’s seat working alongside Anthony Brown as attorney general and Brooke Lierman for comptroller.”
Electoral powerhouse CASA in Action finalized months of campaigning for Maryland’s primary elections, engaging voters in communities of color in Baltimore, Montgomery, and Prince George’s County with a combined approach that included canvassing, mailers, TV and radio ads, among several other methods.
