CASA in Action Celebrates Rouse Victory in Virginia Senate Special Election

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — CASA in Action touts Aaron Rouse’s win in the Virginia Senate 7th District Special Election, and issued the following statement from Virginia Voter Engagement Manager Marvin Hernandez in response to results from the race. With 29 canvassers participating in a nine-day program, CASA in Action surpassed its goal of knocking on 12,000 doors in Virginia Beach, and ran more than 142,584 digital ad impressions across the region.

“Ten days into the new year, we’re thrilled to see our grassroots mobilization help propel Aaron Rouse to victory in this crucial Senate race,” Hernandez said. “Our field team ran an aggressive, swift campaign that allowed us to knock on 15,610 doors and speak directly with 3,141 Virginia Beach voters in little over a week. We look forward to Rouse advocating for better wages, reproductive rights, and affordable health care in Virginia’s Senate, as well as standing with Black and brown immigrants on equity and social justice. This is just a preview of our plans for the primary and general election cycles for the State House this year.”

By mobilizing Black and brown voters, CASA in Action, 501(c)(4), and its 125,000+ members, play a powerful role in electing progressive change leaders who can produce the justice our members seek. For more information, please visit CASAinAction.org. Follow us at @CASAinAction.
