Position Summary
The Elections Communications Manager is in charge of managing campaign communications, implement public engagement strategies, social media outreach, website content and digital ad design under the supervision and in direct coordination with the communications manager and communications director. Functions include media relations, data gathering and analyzing, and developing and implementing communication strategies for CASA’s advocacy and public relations campaigns.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide advocacy/ issue digital campaign planning and tactical support local, state and national campaigns to advance our electoral agenda
- Work with the Communications, Field, Elections and campaigns teams as well as the Regional Directors update, support electoral and primary purpose goals and develop communications/ field integration electoral campaigns.
- Work with vendors and state elections teams to oversee development, execution, weekly reporting and compliance tracking of paid digital plans as well as literature mentions, media mentions and other comms materials.
- Work with the Communications, Elections and campaigns teams as well as the Regional Directors to help execute on the national digital campaign work that supports our overall external and accountability goals.
- Work collaboratively with the communications team, Elections team, Regional Directors and affiliate staff to set electoral digital campaign goals that supports the overall goals for the state to be executed by affiliate and national staff
- Provide strategic guidance and technical support to assist affiliates with developing and implementing statewide digital strategies to advance 2022 electoral campaign goals, including identifying, educating, recruiting and mobilizing supporters, activists and volunteers in the top four states.
- Drive ideas and creativity to increase voter engagement and persuasion and improve ad performance through digital campaign experimentation, ad testing, and new channel exploration.
- Have significant experience working with immigrant communities and communities of color to create strong campaigns that mobilize voters of colors, allies, donors and other key stakeholders
- Manage and track budgets, reporting weekly and as needed to meet compliance needs, estimate monthly costs, and reconciling expenses and discrepancies.

Education/Certification/Licensure
Three (3) to five (5) years of substantial digital & social media experience with political advocacy, and/ or nonprofit organizations.
Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required, advanced degree a plus.
Valid US Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Experience developing and implementing online content and strategy for political or legislative campaigns, non- profit advocacy organizations, or national organizing campaigns.
Experience working on paid advertising campaigns.
Experience working with content management systems as well as electoral reporting and compliance protocols
Experience developing long-term and short-term campaign and outreach plans.
Excellent communication (written & interpersonal) skills.
Proven track record of meeting deadlines and deliverables with quick turnarounds
Thrives in a campaign-style environment with “rapid fire” deadlines and responses.
Experience developing and implementing online content and strategy for political or legislative campaigns, nonprofit advocacy organizations, or national organizing campaigns.
Experience working on paid advertising campaigns.
Experience working with content management systems.
