                                   Organizations backing the Perez Sneed Gubernatorial Campaign rally during day of action

ADELPHI, MARYLAND — This Saturday, CASA in Action will host a community rally alongside labor leaders from AFSCME Council 3 and 67, UFCW Local 400, SEIU Local 500, and 32BJ SEIU. CASA in Action’s board of directors voted to endorse Tom Perez early in his campaign for his progressive values and history of delivering meaningful reforms for working people. As the primary elections heat up, participating unions and CASA in Action will participate in a full day of action (canvassing and phonebanking voters across the state) before meeting at the CASA in Action Multicultural Center to rally. Participants will rally calling on the community to get activated and involved in the campaign – and share why former Secretary Tom Perez and Shannon Sneed are the best choice for the Governor’s mansion.

WHAT:   Rally (following morning of  phonebanking and canvassing for Perez campaign)

WHEN: Saturday June 11, 2022 – 12:30 pm EST 

WHERE: CASA in Action Multicultural Center (Outdoors, front of building)

Note: Parking available in any unreserved spot. In case of rain, wil move inside. 

WHO: Gubernatorial Candidates Tom Perez and Shannon Sneed, CASA in Action members, and key organization and union leaders including:

  • Gustavo Torres, President, CASA in Action 
  • Jaime Contreras, Executive Vice President, 32BJ SEIU 
  • Patrick Moran, President AFSCME Council 3
  • Pia Morrison, President, SEIU Local 500
  • Kayla Mock, Political Representative, UFCW Local 400 
  • Several community members (speaking on workers rights, immigrant justice and healthcare reform)
  • State and local elected officials expected to be in attendance
